Games as old as the original DMC4 are lucky to have UI prompts at all, the original RE4 PC version released 1 year prior to DMC4 and it literally just had button 1, 2, 3, etc. If it still doesn't work then you can try the other method, I believe DS4Windows is still the program most people use for that kind of stuff.Īll that said though the button prompts will always be for the Xbox controller. You just need to go into controller settings on the Steam client (so click Steam in the top left -> settings -> controller -> general controller settings -> click the PS support button) and that should do the trick I believe. If it is the Steam version however Valve basically added that feature into Steam itself.
If you're playing a non-Steam version of the game your only option is getting one of those third party programs that trick your PC into thinking your PS4 controller is an xbox controller. PC doesn't technically have native support for PS controllers of any kind.
